Type Of Scholarship Confucius Institute Scholarship Program 2020 

Scholarship for Master’s Degree(MTCSOL) in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages 

The program starts in September 2019 and offers up to two academic years of scholarship. Applicants shall hold a Bachelor's degree, preference shall be given to applicants who, upon completion of their studies in China, may provide a contract of employment with a teaching institution or relevant evidence.

One-Academic Scholarship for -Year Study

The program begins in September 2019, and offers scholarship for a maximum of 11 months. International students who are currently studying in China are not eligible to participate.

Scholarship for Doctor’s Degree(DTCSOL) in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages 

The program starts in September 2019 and offers a total of four academic years of scholarship. Applicants must hold a Master's degree in Chinese as A Foreign Language, Linguistics, Teaching Chinese to Other Languages Speakers or Majors related to education.

Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree(BTCSOL) in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages 

The program starts in September 2019 and offers scholarship for a maximum of four academic years.

One-Semester Scholarship for Study

The program starts either in September 2019 or March 2020 and offers a total of five months of scholarship. Applicants with a visa for X1 or X2 do not apply. Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taiji Culture: it needs an HSK test score.

 Four-Week Scholarship for Study

The program starts either in July or December 2019 and offers a scholarship of four weeks. Applicants holding a visa for X1 or X2 do not qualify. Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taiji Culture: it requires an HSK test score..

Scholarship Cooperative  between Hanban and Host Institutions

Hanban has set up the "XX Confucius Institute Scholarship" in collaboration with some host institutions. One-Academic-Year Study Scholarship, MTCSOL Scholarship and BTCSOL Scholarship shall be enrolled by the institutions concerned in compliance with the standards set out in this Guide. The "Chinese + Vocational Training" scholarship is enrolled in accordance with the standards announced in the application system by the relevant institutions

Eligibility Criteria

All applicants for the Confucius Institute Scholarship shall be:

Nationaly: Non-Chinese student;

Health: In good mental and physical condition, with a good academic performance and good conduct;

Committed to teaching and international promotions of Chinese language;

Ages: Around 16 and 35 years of age as of 1 September 2019. Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers are not more than 45, whereas applicants for undergraduate students are not more than 25.

Required Documents For Application

The list of CIS Scholarship 2020 documents is below!

Scanned passport photo copy A scanned copy of the HSK and HSKK test score reports (within the validity of two years).

A letter of reference from the Head of the Recommending Institutions A certificate of the Highest Education Diploma Applicants of the DTCSOL Student Scholarship must provide two letters of reference from professors or associate professors or experts with similar professional and technical qualifications in relevant fields and a personal statement of 3000 words in Chinese (including knowledge of the subject matter).

Applicants of the MTCSOL Students Scholarship should submit two letters of reference from professors or associate professors. Priority will be provided to applicants who, upon completion of their studies in China, can provide a work contract with a teaching institution or related evidence.

Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers must provide the employer with proof of employment and a letter of reference.

Applicants under the age of 18 must request approved certification documents signed in China by their designated legal guardians.

Applicants must also provide the host institutions with additional documents needed.

Below is the Confucius Institute application procedure for scholarship here are some steps you need to follow: the online application system (cis.chinese.cn) is now open.

Please log in to search for host institutions and institutions to recommend, upload online application materials, and track the progress of the application.

Scholarship holders need to verify with the host institutions that they have to go through the study procedures in China, print digital CIS certificates, and enroll with the host institutions on the date specified in the letter of admission.

The application deadlines are:

(for programs commencing in July)April 20th 

(for programs commencing in September) May 20th 

(for programs commencing in December) September 20th

Hanban will now complete the scholarship review and publish the results three months before the enrollment of the scholarship winners.
